my story

I was put on this planet to do this work and have been practicing for OVER twenty years.

I have been a teacher of social work through my positions as adjunct professor, advisor, and field instructor at Columbia University School of Social Work and decades of supervision and consultation.

I completed my graduate studies at New York University in 2003 and have continued to seek further training at various institutions including The Ackerman Institute for the Family, The Metropolitan Institute for Training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, New York University Postgraduate Training Program and with Karen Alter-Reid, PhD and Ana Gomez, MC, LPC in EMDR . In addiion to working in public schools, community agencies, and universities, I have been in private practice since 2005. I am an EMDRIA Certified Therapist™, EMDRIA Approved Consultant™, EMDR Parent-Child Attachment Specialist, and EMDR Sandtray Specialist.

Since entering the field in the late 90s, I have been committed to working with adolescents and their families to address learning, emotional, and social barriers to success. I began working in domestic violence shelters with Safe Horizon, and then spent a decade in New York City public high schools, namely Harvey Milk High School and Leaders. My work with adults at the Institute for Human Identity and in addiction treatment centers has helped me hone my understanding of how complex our struggles can be and how many resources we have access to, both within and around us.

I am a student and a client as well -- I will never stop asking questions and seeking to understand myself and my place in the world.

Jillian Morgan, LCSW

Jillian Morgan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience working at the intersection of clinical practice, organizational wellbeing, and human transformation. Her approach is warm, trauma-informed, and deeply relational, shaped by the belief that healing happens in connection, and that knowledge shared well multiplies its impact.

Her clinical background spans a range of settings and populations. She spent nine years as a middle school social worker, supporting adolescents through some of their most formative and challenging years, before expanding her work to adults in private practice and large organizations. She currently consults with companies on mental health strategy and psychological safety, after serving as the Director of Community & Wellbeing at IPG Mediabrands, leading mental health and employee experience work across a 20,000+ person global workforce, building programs that employees consistently named as a reason they felt valued and included.

Jillian is drawn to teaching and mentorship for the same reason she was drawn to clinical work: the relationship is the thing. She believes that therapists who learn to teach with clarity and care extend the reach of healing far beyond any single session, and she is genuinely invested in helping emerging practitioners find their footing and their voice.
